9Darts

Darts statistics that stay on your phone

Average, first nine, checkout percentage, best leg, which doubles land, trends and head-to-head — from your own darts, kept on your phone, yours to export.

Open the app

Every dart you score is kept — not a running total, the dart itself — and the statistics are computed from them each time you open the screen. That is what makes them honest: a bust counts, a miss counts, and nothing is estimated.

What is measured

Four tiles first, then everything

The statistics screen opens on the four numbers that describe a player — average, first nine, checkout percentage and best leg — and goes on down through the trend, the doubles map, the scoring bands and the record against each opponent. Every stored game can be opened and replayed turn by turn.

The coach

Under the drills on the practice screen, a short sentence reads your numbers and names the drill worth throwing next: the doubles drill when one double keeps missing, Bob’s 27 when finishing is what loses you legs, the trebles drill when the treble twenty is not landing. Two suggestions at most, and when you have not thrown for a while it simply says so. It is a suggestion, not a plan; the figures are yours to read.

Yours, and portable

The phone keeps the last two hundred games. Settings exports every one of them as a single file and imports it on another phone, so a new handset starts where the old one left off. Nothing goes to a server, and there is no account to lose.

Common questions

How is checkout percentage worked out?

From the darts and the score they were thrown at: a dart thrown with a double available is a shot at a double, and the ones that finished the leg are the hits. Visits typed as a total are left out, because nobody saw where those darts went.

Do games against the bot count?

Your own throws do, exactly like any other game. The bot’s throws are kept out of the personal bests and the name list — a machine’s 180 is nobody’s record.

How many games are kept?

Two hundred, oldest out first. The export in Settings hands you all of them.
