A dart bot to play against, at five averages

A bot opponent for 301 and 501 at averages of 40, 55, 70, 85 and 100 — calibrated, scored by the same rules as you, and counted in your statistics.

Open the app

Nobody about is the usual reason a practice session turns into throwing at the twenty for an hour. The bot fills the second seat of a 301 or 501 match so you are playing a leg against something, with a score to beat and a result at the end.

One number per level

Each level is a three-dart average: 40, 55, 70, 85 and 100 — a pub player, a decent one, league standard, county standard, a professional. The number is not a label. Each level’s hand is a spread in millimetres around what it aims at, and the average is what that spread actually scores over tens of thousands of simulated legs, pinned by a test to within two points.

It plays the board, not a table

The bot aims at the treble twenty until it has a finish, then at the same route the checkout panel would show you, and its dart lands with a wobble through the same board geometry a fingertip does. It busts when it busts, by the same rules, because the rules decide — not a script.

Fair in both directions

Its darts are fixed from the moment the match starts: closing the app with the bot sitting on 40 and opening it again does not reroll its visit. Undo takes back your own dart, and the bot replays its turn identically. A match against it is stored like any other, and your throws count in your statistics; the bot’s are kept out of your personal bests.

Which level to pick

The one just above your own average. The statistics screen says what that is after twenty or thirty legs; until then, start at 55 and move up when you win two in a row.

Common questions

Does the bot cheat?

No. It aims where a player would, its dart scatters with a fixed spread, and the same scoring code calls its busts. Its visit is decided when the match starts, so it cannot be rerolled in either direction.

Can the bot play 301 or Around the World?

301 and 501, yes. Around the World is not offered yet — the bot would have to aim at a moving target.

Does a game against the bot count in my statistics?

Your darts do, like any other game; the bot’s are kept out of your personal bests and off the name list.
