501 darts scorer — score a leg of 501 on your phone
Score 501 in the browser: one tap a dart, checkout routes from 170 down, busts by the rules, legs and sets, and a bot or a second phone to play against.
Open the app501 is the game of darts — the format every league, every pub and every televised match plays. Start on 501, score down, and finish on a double. 9Darts scores it the way a chalker would, without the arithmetic.
One tap a dart
Each dart is a tap: the number on a grid with a double or treble modifier, a tap on the board itself where the dart landed, or the visit’s total typed on a numpad when all you want is the sum. The score comes down as you tap, the turn ends after three darts or a bust, and undo takes a dart back — across turns and legs, because the app keeps every dart rather than a running total.
Busts and the double
Double-out is on by default: a leg ends on a double or the inner bull, and a visit that goes below zero, leaves one, or reaches zero on anything but a double is a bust, with the score put back to where the visit started. Double-in is a toggle in the format sheet, for the leagues that play it.
The ways out
From 170 down the screen shows the best route for the score you are on — T20 T20 BULL for 170, T20 T19 D12 for 141 — and the alternatives a player would actually pick, ranked the way they are called. The bogey numbers, 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162 and 159, are shown for what they are: no finish in three, so set up instead.
Legs, sets and who starts
Pick best of three, five or more legs, with or without sets, once in the format sheet; the app alternates the throw every leg and the opener every set, and offers a bull-off to decide who starts. Each finished match goes into the history with every dart, so a leg can be replayed turn by turn.
Alone, with a friend or against the bot
Two names on one phone, two phones in one online room, or the bot in the second seat at one of five averages. Every game counts in the statistics: three-dart average, first nine, checkout percentage and the doubles that land.

Common questions
What is a good three-dart average in 501?
A comfortable pub player averages 40 to 60, which is 501 in about 27 darts. League standard is 60 to 80, and the professionals sit around 100.
Does the scorer handle double-in?
Yes, as a toggle in the format sheet: with double-in on, nothing counts until a double has been hit, exactly as the rule reads.
What happens when I bust?
The visit scores nothing, the score goes back to where the visit started, and the turn passes. The app decides it from the rules on every dart, so a bust can never be recorded wrongly.
